This Thanksgiving I was surprisingly more helpful in the kitchen than previous years; my Mother was ecstatic. I blame it on my growing grapefruit (yes he is currently that size). The above picture was my very first pie. I am proud of it because I am the worst cook I know.
We all spent needed time together making food, eating food, playing wiffle ball, and playing at the park. Then eating more food. Every year, my Mom and Dad each cook a turkey and we all vote on who made the best. My Dad has won every year since I can remember. Until now! My Mom somehow beat him this year. Maybe she cheated. Maybe my Dad forgot some critical ingredient. I don't know. It doesn't matter to me either way because we got some serious deliciousness this year.
On a separate note, Jim and my sister Whitney also felt the little guy kick for the first time. Such a special moment.............. for all three of us?
I'm so grateful for my family and the fun that we all have together. I'm happiest when I'm with the ones I love. In short, we had a pretty perfect Thanksgiving and we cannot wait for Christmas! I'm in love with this time of year.
