Thank You Mom

Mothers, cherish that role that is so uniquely yours and for which heaven itself sends angels to watch over you and your little ones. Yours is the work of salvation, and therefore you will be magnified, compensated, made more than you are, better than you are, and better than you have ever been.  We thank all of you, and tell you there is nothing more important in this world than participating so directly in the work and glory of God.
-Jeffrey R. Holland

Thank you Mom for......
  • Staying up late with me when I was in 5th grade to help me build my Popsicle stick house.
  •  Teaching me how to properly deep clean a bathroom. Some of my college roommates could have used that knowledge.
  • Not ignoring my far too many phone calls I make to you daily.
  • Teaching me how to pray and to pray always.
  • Getting an education and encouraging me to further mine.
  • Sewing my Jasmine costume in elementary school. Also for spray painting my hair so that it would be black, just like Jasmine.
  • Loving my Dad.
  • Staying up til 4am watching Pretty Little Liars with me.
  • Proof-reading all of my English papers.
  • Recognizing that if I get grumpy that the first thing I need is some food in my probably empty belly.
  • Forgiving me when I get grumpy.
  • Inventing girls trips with us.
  • Introducing me to M&M salad. It's healthy. It's a salad!
  • Always cooking for me when I come to visit.
  • Being such a hard worker.
  • Reading to me when I was little, even if I resisted at all costs.
  • Not killing my big brother when he cut off my curly little locks.
  • Making me go to piano lessons.
  • Defending me when those mean older boys put gum in my hair on the bus. Their Mom's needed to teach them a thing or two about being nice!
  • Telling me how to get gum out of my Husband's shirts.......twice.
  •  Taking us to, picking us up, and watching all of our extra-curricular events.
  • Teaching me about the Gospel.
  • Pulling the thorns out of my backside when I accidentally sat on a cactus.
  • Giving me the prettiest wedding ever.
  • Always putting clean sheets on our bed when Jimmy and I come to visit.
  • Teaching me to not gossip.
  • Sewing my bridesmaid dresses.
  • Making me have to pay for half of my Catalina Island trip so that I would "appreciate it more." You were right.
  •  Forgiving me for poking little pin holes in your waterbed.
  • Loving and welcoming my Hubs to the family.
  • Loving me unconditionally.

I'm so grateful for what you have done for me.  You haven't done everything perfectly,
but you have been perfect for all of us.
Happy Mother's Day!
